Obituary:
Robert W. Zapoli, better known as “Zap” celebrated his 61st birthday on Veteran’s Day with his friends, before losing his valiant fight against cancer on November 20th, 2009. Zap was born in Detroit, MI to Elsie and Bill Zapoli, where he upon graduating from Redford High School, he enlisted in the Navy and served in the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1970 as a Petty Officer. Once out of the service, Zap remained in California and made Three Rivers his home. Zap attended the College of the Sequoias and Cal State Fresno. During his long career he worked as a Maintenance worker at Sequoia National Park, California Water Treatment Operator and was a Journeyman Electrician of IBEW # 100. Zap recently retired as an Electrician from the City of Fresno. Zap also enjoyed serving at the local VFW.
Zap will be loved and missed by his mother, Elsie Zapoli, sister Linda Stevens and brother-in-law Rick, nieces Amy Rasegan (husband Scott), grand nieces Daphne Rasegan, Gracie and Josie Hayes and grandnephew Avery Hayes. Zap is especially missed by his close friend, Patricia Valentine.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, November 25th at 1:00 PM at his home.

Good morning, Linda and Rick. Thank you for writing a great summary of Zap's "facts" and family. The photo suits the memories that people share about him. I just love how you included me, too. That really means a lot, more than I can express. Now the next days ahead will bring more memories and decisions. I am truly blessed to be able to participate.
