Obituary:
Ricky Eugene Smith was born on March 12, 1952 to Leo and Rosemary Smith in Exeter, CA. He passed away on December 9, 2014 in Lindsay, CA. Ricky graduated from Exeter Union High School and then received his Bachelors Degree in education from the University of the Pacific. He taught 2nd Grade at Mineral King School in Visalia for 35 before retiring. He loved his students very much. He also enjoyed Team Roping with his father and brother. Ricky is preceded in death by his father, Leo Smith.
Ricky is survived by his mother, Rosemary Smith of Woodlake; his brother Charles (Toni) Smith of Woodlake and 2 nieces.

Both of my children had the privilege of being students of Mr Smiths! Holding tarantulas, incubating chicken eggs, reading, telling stories...he was a fabulous teacher! He truly loved his kids! My son would go into his classroom everyday throughout his years at Mineral King, & my daughter would write letters to him after his retirement! Thank you Mr Smith for being an awesome man & teacher! The Johnson family is greatful for the educational foundation you have given our kids! You will be remembered always!

Mr Smith has had the most amazing impact on the lives of my boys. He always made them feel like they were the most special person in the room. Our family will treasure the memories of him. The knowledge , playfulness and passion for learning that he instilled in my boys is evident today. It was an honor to know him. Thank you for sharing this amazing man with us.
