Visitation Information:
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM followed by a Rosary at 6:00 PM at the Chapel. Mass will be said on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Exeter District Cemetery.

Obituary:
Anna Mae Souza was born in Visalia, CA on May 12, 1926 to Oscar and Iva Benton. She grew up in the Farmersville/Visalia area. Anna Mae graduated from Visalia High School and attended some college at C.O.S.
Anna met the love of her life, Joe A. Souza at a dance at Mills Grove. They were married on November 15, 1945 in Washoe County, Nevada, and then later married in Farmersville at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.
Anna Mae helped Joe on the ranch taking care of the workers who picked their cotton. Later she got a job at Tip Top Cleaners for Joe and Ann Branco. In September of 1965, she got a job working in the attendance office at Mt. Whitney High School and later became a Career Counselor helping the students. She retired after 25 years and remained proud of her job.
Anna Mae was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, taught Catechism classes at the church and was instrumental in raising money to help fund a new catholic church to be built in the future on Visalia Road outside of Exeter. She was also President of the Chamber of Commerce of Farmersville. Anna and Joe were named Farmersville Man and Woman of the Year. Anna Mae was always getting Joe ready for his parades, dressing him and his mules up. They loved their trips to Bishop. Especially when the grandsons Ricky and Chris went with them! Her passion was to cook and provide for everyone. She loved all her family, neighbors and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Iva Benton of Visalia, her husband Joe of Visalia, her grandson Christopher Souza of Exeter, and her brother Don Benton of Visalia.
Anna is survived by her son Richard and his wife Scharlotte of Exeter, Grandson Rick and his wife Denise of Visalia, Three loving great grandkids Austin, Layne and Tiereney (LouLou) of Visalia, her sister Evelyn Andrade of Visalia and Sister in Law MaryAnn Benton of Visalia. She is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.

So sad to read of passing of Anna Mae, she was an awesome lady and an awesome friend to me. She was always involved with parties and things involving the tafoya family. She will be missed and her beautiful smile. She is free from all pain here on earth and is with joe and Chris and all her family who were waiting at Heavens Gate!!! until we meet again Anna Mae enjoy your new life!!!! XXXXXX
