Visitation Information:
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2015 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM followed by a Rosary at 6:00 PM at the Chapel. Funeral Services will be on Friday, January 23, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Evans Miller Guinn Chapel. Burial will be in the Exeter District Cemetery.

MONICA MARIE TAYABA (Tia Pica)


Monica Marie Tayaba, a resident of Shingle Springs Rancheria, Ca was born September 23, 1974 in Exeter, CA. She passed away on January 14, 2015 in Sacramento, Ca at the age of 40 from multiple heart complications. She grew up in Ivanhoe, Farmersville, and Visalia, Ca. She spent here adulthood in Fresno and finally resided on the Shingle Springs Rancheria. She was an excellent stay at home mother and her two kind and beautiful daughters were her proudest achievement. She was the absolute favorite grandchild to her Grandfather; Teodorico Andrea Tayaba with whom she shared a very special bond. Her last wish was to be buried with him in Exeter, Ca. She was an extremely empathetic and generous individual with a wonderful sense of humor. She loved animals so very deeply and was an advocate for any persons living with long-term illnesses. She was very spiritual; in tune with her Catholic beliefs. She loved to listen to Keith Sweat and Bob Marley, would read just about anything she could get her hands on and took an active interest in politics. She is preceded in death by her parents, Irene Christina Tayaba and Steven Andrea Tayaba and her sister Sandra Tayaba.
She was loved dearly by her 2 daughters: Isis Jewell Hughes Tayaba, 18 and Aedon Jewell Hughes, 13. Her sisters are Lorrie Tayaba residing in Placerville, Ca, and Andrea Tayaba residing on Shingle Springs Rancheria. She leaves behind 3 nieces and 7 nephews. Although she never married, she had a long-term relationship with Claude Rick Hughes, Jr., the father of her children.
