A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Evans Miller Guinn Chapel. Inurnment will be private at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Porterville.

Obituary:
Our beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend Mildred Pauline Miles also known as Millie to all her loved ones peacefully passed away in Visalia, CA on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at the age of 92. She was born on February 14, 1924 in Winner SD to the late Orval and Ora Louise Cousins.
Millie attended Winner High School. She met her late husband Theodore (Ted) Miles in Winner SD who she later married on July 12, 1942 in California. They made their home in Southern CA until 1993, then they moved to Porterville to be closer to their granddaughters. Millie was a homemaker who worked partime as a cafeteria worker in the San Fernando Valley.
Millie will be remembered for her infectious smile, her love for Shirley Temple and huge holiday parties with endless amounts of food and treats. In addition to her heart of gold, willingness to help others, and always welcoming family and friends into her home.
Preceded in death by her parents: Orval & Ora Louise Cousins, husband: Ted Miles, brothers: Buster & Oran Cousins, sisters: Helen Mattson & Dorothy Creager, and son-in law Steve Furnier .
She is survived by son: James Miles and wife Kathie of North Hills, CA; daughter: Beverly Furnier of Exeter, CA; granddaughters: Michelle Lopez and husband Sam of Fresno, CA; and Stacie Furnier of North Hills, CA also by many nieces and nephews and beloved dog, Taffy.
Family wishes to give a special thank you to the medical staff of Westgate Gardens Care Center and Kaweah Delta Hospital for their love and care for Millie.
A celebration of life will be held on September 10, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Evans Miller Guinn Exeter Chapel. Luncheon will be held at Exeter Women’s Club immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her memory to The American Cancer Society.
